CARTERET, N.J., Dec. 7, 2010 - Prime Lube, Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, today announced that it has begun production of its BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) at its new 15,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Avenel, NJ. The plant, which will produce around 4 million gallons of DEF per year to start, offers room for production expansion to meet growing demand for DEF as market conditions dictate.

Prime Lube will hold an official grand opening event at the facility on Tuesday December 7th, 2010.

"We're very excited to be up and running, producing our own BlueSky DEF for shipment directly to our growing distributor network," said Prime Lube COO Robert Arbasetti. "With this local facility, Prime Lube is able to offer a strategic advantage in terms of pricing and distribution capacity with our own fleet of trucks. And, through our strategic partnership with Piusi, we can also offer the best Diesel Exhaust Fluid dispensing equipment in the business, along with the tanks and other handling equipment our distributors require."

In April, Prime Lube announced its partnership with Germany's Kruse Group--the leading global DEF manufacturer and raw materials supplier--to manufacture and distribute BlueSky DEF throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Arbasetti credit's Kruse's turnkey system of supplying the equipment, technology and raw materials for enabling Prime Lube to get up and running so quickly, without a lot of independent research and engineering.

"This plant is the third Kruse DEF facility in the U.S. and the first in the Mid-Atlantic region," said Roman Hewko, VP of sales and marketing with Kruse Group. "This strategic location in close proximity to Boston, New York City and Philadelphia will allow for more efficient distribution and lower transportation costs to these large metropolitan areas, resulting in a significant price advantage for Mid-Atlantic distributors and their customers."

The Prime Lube facility is run by Operations Manager Paul Wortman, and Arbasetti said the company anticipates hiring an additional 3-5 employees over the next 6-12 months. The facility currently operates a semi-automatic bottling line that packages BlueSky DEF into 2-½ gallon bottles, 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes. Packages are labeled in English, Spanish and French to enable multi-national marketing and distribution--Prime Lube has already established distribution partners in Canada.

"We're already looking ahead at the possibility of adding a fully-automated packaging line as demand for the product grows," Arbasetti said.

All diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010 are required to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emission standards set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. DEF, in conjunction with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, is the most effective and safest means by which commercial and private owner/operators can meet the required mandate. DEF is also mandated in Canada.

Prime Lube's BlueSky DEF is ISO and API approved to help neutralize the nitrous oxide emissions generated through diesel exhaust. In its most basic form, DEF is a blend of urea (derived from natural gas) and de-ionized water that combine to form ammonia, which turns nitrous oxide emissions into harmless water vapor and elemental nitrogen. It can even improve fuel economy up to 5 percent.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ -- Stricter federal clean-air laws are driving business to a local motor-oil distribution company.

Carteret-based Prime Lube has expanded into a 15,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. This month, the facility on Mileed Way began production on BlueSky, a brand of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

The fluid, made partly with natural gas-derived urea, allows diesel engines to reduce the amount of nitrous oxides they release into the atmosphere.

The federal Environmental Protection Agency has regulated emissions of nitrogen dioxide -- a greenhouse gas believed to contribute to climate change -- since 1971.

Stricter regulations went into effect this year. Prime Lube, partnering with German DEF manufacturer Kruse Group, will be able to produce about 4 million gallons of DEF a year.

Company officials expect the Avenel plant's production capacity to increase as demand for BlueSky grows. The plant's six-person workforce will likely also grow, Prime Lube chief operating officer Robert Arbasetti said.

“The most advantageous part of having the facility here in New Jersey is that we will be able to produce the product locally and reduce the cost of transportation to the end user,” Arbasetti said.

Mayor John E. McCormac, whose administration has been trying to attract companies and business start-ups in the environmental field, said Prime Lube's new facility “is a sign that the word is out that Woodbridge is very business-friendly.”

“We're fielding calls weekly from companies looking to move here and expand,” he said.

Arbasetti said Prime Lube is looking to distribute BlueSky from Virginia to Canada, where diesel emissions also are regulated.

Company and municipal officials plan to attend a welcoming ceremony for the Avenel facility next month.

CARTERET, N.J., Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Lube, Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, announced today that Sandri Energy based in Greenfield, Mass. has become a major distributor of BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). Sandri will offer the mandated fuel supplement to its transportation and construction fleet customers throughout the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Eastern New York.

"We are very pleased to welcome the Sandri Energy family into BlueSky distributorship," said Prime Lube CEO Robert Arbasetti. "Sandri is a well-diversified, progressive energy supplier, and we are confident that our new locally-manufactured BlueSky DEF will satisfy their customers' needs for quality, value and effectiveness."

Now in its third generation of family ownership, Sandri is a highly diversified energy supplier, providing gasoline and diesel fuel, a wide range of commercial, transportation and industrial lubricants and home heating fuel. The company has recently expanded into a growing portfolio of renewable energy sources, including solar electric power systems, wood pellet fuel, and ultra-low emission pellet heating systems.

Not only does the addition of BlueSky DEF enable the company to help its customers meet the required environmental mandates, but it also satisfies Sandri's desire to offer a wider range of more environmentally-friendly solutions.

"As a company, we firmly believe in the environmental benefits BlueSky DEF offers, and we recognized fairly early on that this is where the market was headed," said Stephen Ebbrecht, lubricants sales manager at Sandri. "As a fellow Signature Class Chevron distributor, we were very confident in quality of Prime Lube's BlueSky DEF, and its local manufacturing capacity will help keep costs lower—a savings we can pass on to our customers."

Prime Lube began production of BlueSky DEF in September at a new 15,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Avenel, NJ through a partnership with Germany's Kruse Group—the leading global DEF manufacturer and raw materials supplier. The plant has an annual production capacity of about 4 million gallons, with room for expansion as demand grows.

With this local manufacturing capacity, Prime Lube is able to offer a more affordable supply of DEF to its customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition, the company's full-service distribution and handling capacity includes its own fleet of trucks for delivery, as well as the capability to provide customers with the dispensing equipment, storage tanks and other handling equipment required for DEF.

TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- Prime Lube Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, announced today that it has added NOCO Distribution LLC to its list of distributors for its BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). NOCO is now distributing BlueSky throughout all of New York, Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as roughly half of Ontario, including the Toronto and Ottawa metropolitan areas.

NOCO Distribution is a subsidiary of NOCO Inc., a family-owned and operated energy company. Through its partnership with Prime Lube, NOCO Distribution will provide its on- and off-highway fleet customers with BlueSky DEF, as well as offer BlueSky to commercial and passenger vehicle customers through its more than 30 NOCO Express convenience stores throughout western New York.

"As a fellow ExxonMobil distributor, we've had an ongoing relationship with Prime Lube for nearly seven years. When it came time for us to add DEF to our product line, they were the natural choice," said Fred Giese, general manager at NOCO Distribution. "Because they're a local manufacturer in close proximity to our warehouse in Kingston, N.Y., this is a major cost savings for us, and the fact that they can supply all of the tanks, pumps and other equipment plus be close at hand for maintenance and repairs if needed, is a value-added benefit."

All diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010, are required to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emission standards set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). DEF, in conjunction with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, is the most effective and safest means by which commercial and private owner/operators can meet the required mandate, according to Prime Lube. DEF is also mandated in Canada.

Prime Lube will roll out the BlueSky brand to NOCO customers this week starting with two training seminars for the NOCO sales team in Syracuse and Toronto.

"Our local manufacturing and full-service capability is a major plus for fleet service providers in the Mid-Atlantic," said Prime Lube COO Robert Arbasetti. "As the demand for DEF grows, our distribution partners like NOCO will be well-positioned to provide an affordable solution to help their customers meet the requirement, enhance their sustainability practices and improve fuel economy."

Prime Lube's BlueSky DEF is ISO and API approved to help neutralize the nitrous oxide emissions generated through diesel exhaust. BlueSky DEF Now Available from Chesapeake Bay to Atlantic Seaports to Meet Growing Marine Market Demand

CARTERET, N.J., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Lube, Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, announced today that Atlantic Bulk Carriers of Wilmington, Del. has signed on to become a distributor of Prime Lube's BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) on the Del-Mar-Va peninsula, which includes the eastern shore areas of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia from the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the few fuel contractors to hold a Letter of Adequacy from the U.S. Coast Guard to deliver fuel "over the water," Atlantic Bulk Carriers has the unique authority to pump fuels and lubricants from the truck to the boat, supplying diesel, heavy marine fuel oils, lubricants, jet fuel and gasoline to marine vessels and their on-board helicopters and airplanes. The company serves private and commercial vessels, including cruise ships and bulk container vessels, as well as the federal government.

"Through it's partnership with Kruse, Prime Lube is able to supply us with the highest-quality DEF on the market," said Atlantic Bulk Carriers owner Stan Smith. "BlueSky is API and ISO certified to assure us and our customers that they're getting a quality, effective product that meets their expectations for performance. This will allow us to meet the current demand for land-based DEF requirements and establish a strong position with infrastructure already in place to serve the marine market when the time comes."

All diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010 are required to incorporate selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology with DEF in order to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emission standards set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Beginning in 2014, DEF systems will be required on all newly-manufactured marine vessels as well. DEF is already mandated for European-based vessels coming into seaports served by Atlantic Bulk Carriers.

"European vessels coming into U.S. ports are hard-pressed to find DEF suppliers in order to refill their tanks, and they're prohibited from re-entering some European ports without the system in operation," said Prime Lube COO Robert Arbasetti. "This partnership with Atlantic Bulk Carriers will enable us to serve not only future domestic demand, but also provide refilling options for foreign vessels coming into our East Coast ports."

Smith says Prime Lube's regional manufacturing capacity enabled him to secure the most competitive pricing for the BlueSky DEF product, backed by the quality assurance standards of industry-wide certifications.

It can even improve fuel economy for land vehicles up to 5 percent.
